listening

I'm all about music these days. Book Two is about a middle-aged Girl Band. Some friends and I have formed a RGB (Real Girl Band) called Marmalade Superlove; we've even performed at one open mic already. I just started guitar lessons. I'm writing my first song.

Music has always been part of writing for me. I listen to music while I write. I spend hours creating playlists to accompany the moods I want for various scenes. My first novel's title, And She Was, is the namesake of a Talking Heads song.

In this second novel, I'm taking it a step further -- creating a novel soundtrack. I don't know how much of it will actually end up in the book as music rights are notoriously hard to get, but I'll do what I can. And I can certainly share my soundtrack here.

But first...

Songs for writing sex scenes

From tender to icky, sex scenes carry a lot of weight in a novel. This playlist has a little something for every sort of sex scene I've been working on.
